The Goldline TCA (Toronto Curling Association) Youth Championships were established in 1981. Since its inception it has been the premiere Junior bonspiel in Canada and quite possibly the world. For more than 20 years, the best Junior curlers came to compete for the Crown Jewel of curling prizes, a curling trip to Switzerland. Catering to all levels of teams, the caliber of play of the top division may only be rivalled by a National or World Championship. The pedigree of curlers that have won this event is astounding. Past winners include Glenn Howard, Wayne Middaugh, John Morris, Rachel Homan, Jamie Sinclair and Silvana Tirinzoni, just to name a few. Previous champions of the TCA Youth Championship have made 363 National Championship appearances, 90 World Championship appearances with 48 of those winning gold and 15 Olympic appearances including 4 Gold Medals.
In addition to great curling and competition, the TCA Youth Championships embrace and encourage all aspects that make the game of curling and the curling community so great. There are many other on and off ice activities to promote interaction between curlers, family, friends and spectators. All these activities give the players the chance to make lifelong friends and memories. A strict code of conduct is enforced to ensure fair play and an enjoyable environment for everyone.
The plans for this year’s event are sure to make it the best ever.
